Akron had scored only three points in the first quarter of its first four games this season (field goal at Michigan on Sept. 14) ... the Zips entered the game with nine sacks for the season ... Robert Stein tied the program record for consecutive point-after attempts, with 49 ... he is 14-of-14 on PATs this season and 52-of-53 in his collegiate career ... L.T. Smith's 51-yard TD catch was a career long.
