BRUNSWICK, OH (WOIO) -

The state Department of Health confirmed the bat, found in the 800 block of Penny Drive last week, tested positive for rabies.

One person was exposed to the bat and was advised to seek medical treatment.

The Health Department says that it's not uncommon for bats to test positive for rabies in Ohio.
