TUSCARAWAS COUNTY, OH (WOIO) - Two Canton man are facing charges after troopers found drugs and loaded weapons during a traffic stop.
Troopers stopped a 2001 Lincoln LS, for a window tint violation on Interstate 77 in Tuscarawas County at 7:21 p.m. on September 27.
Troopers detected an odor of raw marijuana coming from the driver. A search of the driver revealed a gram of suspected heroin in the brim of the driver's hat. During interaction with the passenger, he admitted to troopers that he had a loaded Smith and Wesson 38 revolver in the vehicle's side door. Troopers also recovered another loaded Smith and Wesson .380 semi-automatic gun, an unloaded Mossberg 12-gauage shotgun, four Percocet pills and five grams of marijuana from the vehicle. The contraband has a street value of $300.
The driver, Jonathan M. Depasquale, 20, and passenger, Tory R. McGrew, 21, both of Canton, were incarcerated in the Tuscarawas County Jail and charged with improper handling of a firearm. Depasquale was also charged with possession of heroin and schedule II drugs and possession of marijuana.
