Helmetless motorcyclist dies in Monroe County crash

MONROE COUNTY, MI (Toledo News Now) -

A motorcyclist was killed Sunday morning in Ash Township after crashing into a ditch off I-275.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, 35-year-old Todd Vanderbush, of Carleton, Michigan, was pronounced dead on the scene.

Vanderbush was driving his Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on I-275 at the Telegraph Road exit ramp, when he veered off the roadway around 12:30 a.m., crashing into a ditch.

Deputies say Vanderbush was not wearing a helmet during the crash.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Monroe County Sheriff's Office at 734-240-7768.
