While the Cleveland Browns are in the middle of the search for a new head coach of their own, they may also have to add defensive coordinator to their list of positions to fill this off season. Current Browns defensive coordinator Ray Horton is expected to interview for the vacant head coaching position for the Minnesota Vikings on Tuesday.
Horton was previously the defensive coordinator for the Arizona Cardinals, after interviewing for numerous head coaching jobs last off season, Horton joined the Browns in 2013 under the recently fired Rob Chudzinski. Horton also served on the coaching staff for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2004-2010 before going to Arizona.
Horton, in his one year in Cleveland, produced a seventh ranked defense in yards allowed. The Browns gave up 25.4 points per game in 2013 under Horton.
Jim Schwartz, who was recently fired by the Detroit Lions, is a rumored favorite to replace Horton as defensive coordinator in Cleveland if Horton were to leave for a head coaching position.
