Residents in Lorain Co. still without gas

LORAIN COUNTY, OH (WOIO) -

It's been 24 hours and counting without heat for residents in Lorain County.

Homeowners Larry Schultz and his wife Sharry have been cuddling up on the couch for hours for a reason.

It's the only way they can stay warm in their North Ridgeville home.

"We're cold. We're really cold. We just brought out all these blankets and sat in front of the TV and made the best of it. That's all you can do," says Sharry Schultz.

No gas means cooking meals in the microwave.

A hot cup of tea and a space heater helping out.

" I never experienced being this cold for this long anywhere. I have to wear this [snow hat] in the house all day long, otherwise my head gets really cold," says Larry Schultz.

It's 54 degrees inside the Schultz's house - compared to a comfortable 70 degrees their used to.

More than 450 homes in their Del Webb Development lost heat early Monday night.

We spotted Columbia Gas crews in the area early Tuesday evening going door to door.

A sign, Larry and Sharry say they hope means their heat may be on soon, and when and if it warms up Sharry knows what's first on her list.

"Hot water. A nice hot shower that sounds good," says Sharry.
