Super Bowl XLVIII will feature the top seeded teams from both conferences, the Denver Broncos were the class of the AFC all year, the Seattle Seahawks were the same for the NFC.
Denver punched their ticket to the Super Bowl with a 26-16 win over New England. The Broncos jumped out to a 20-3 lead and the Patriots could not recover from it. Peyton Manning completed 32 of 43 passes for 400 yards and two touchdowns. Tom Brady passed for 277 yards and one score in a losing effort.
In the NFC Championship Game it was San Francisco that got out to an early lead. The 49'ers held a 10-0 advantage on Seattle into the second quarter before the Seahawks finally got on the board with a Steven Hauschka field goal. Seattle came rallying back in the second half to win the game.
Marshawn Lynch sparked the rally with a 40-yard touchdown run to tie the game at 10. After the Niners added a field goal, Russell Wilson threw a 35 yard touchdown pass to Jermaine Kearse to put the Seahawks up for good.
Holding a 23-17 lead, with San Francisco driving for a go ahead score in the final minute, Richard Sherman tipped a pass in the end zone intended for Michael Crabtree, Malcolm Smith intercepted it, and Seattle was off the Super Bowl.
Denver and Seattle will meet in two Sundays at Met Life Stadium in New Jersey.
