T.J. Ward selected to first Pro Bowl

BEREA,Ohio -- Cleveland Browns safety T.J.Ward has been selected to his first career Pro Bowl, the National FootballLeague announced today. Ward, named an alternate on Dec. 27, replacesPittsburgh's Troy Polamalu, who is unable to participate due to injury.

TheBrowns' six All-Star honorees mark the team's most since six players reachedthe 2008 Pro Bowl. Ward will join tight end Jordan Cameron, wide receiver JoshGordon, cornerback Joe Haden, center Alex Mack and tackle JoeThomas in representing Cleveland during the 2014 Pro Bowl at Aloha Stadiumin Honolulu on Jan. 26.

Wardregistered a career-high 129 tackles and tied a career-high with twointerceptions. The 2010 second-round selection added nine passes defensed, 1.5sacks, a fumble recovery and two defensive scores. He scored on a 44-yardinterception return vs. Buffalo on Oct. 3, and added a 51-yard fumble recoveryfor a touchdown vs. Chicago on Dec. 15.
