AKRON, OH (WOIO) - A three-year-old boy is recovering, after being shot in the leg while driving with his grandma.
Akron Police say this happened just after 11 p.m. Friday on I-77 northbound at East Avenue.
The 47-year-old grandma told police she heard four gunshots and then her grandson started crying. She pulled her vehicle off to the side of the road and noticed that he was bleeding from his right leg. An eight-year-old grandchild, also in the back seat, was not injured.
The little boy was transported to Akron Children's Hospital where his injuries do not appear to be life threatening.
Officers say the shooting appears to stem from an on-going feud.
The suspect(s) vehicle is a four-door, tan or cream colored Ford Taurus or Toyota Camry.
