Cuyahoga County Council will meet Tuesday at 3:30 p.m., and a vote on the sin tax is possible.
Council is being urged to put the renewal issue on May ballot. Voters approved the original sin tax in 1990.
Money raised from the sale of alcohol and cigarettes helped build Cleveland's professional sports stadiums. The proposal would help cover maintenance costs.
Committee of the whole meeting begins at 3:30 p.m., the public hearing on the extension of the alcohol and cigarette excise taxes is at 4:45 p.m. The council will also conduct a regular meeting at 5 p.m.
Members of the public wishing to attend the committee of the whole meeting, the public hearing on the extension of the alcohol and cigarette excise taxes, and/or the council meeting are able to park in the Huntington Garage free of charge and access the Justice Center through the connected walkway.
