An elderly woman was shot during a home invasion early Friday morning in Cleveland.
The victim's husband called police from the couple's Strandhill Road home around 2:45 a.m.
A source close to the case tells 19 Action News the shooting happened as the 73-year-old victim, identified as Betty Miller, tried to close the door and stop the intruder(s) from coming inside. Instead, the intruder fired through the door, striking Miller in the abdomen.
EMS rushed the woman to Metro for treatment of her injuries. Her family says that Miller is in currently in stable condition.
Police tell 19 Action News no arrests have been made.
