An investigation is underway after a girl was nearly abducted on Cleveland's west side.
It happened around 8:45 a.m. Tuesday at West 97th and Almira as the child was waiting at a bus stop.
19 Action News has learned the suspect tried the grab the child from behind and pull her backwards. A driver passing by witnessed the attack and stopped, causing the man to flee on foot.
The driver, who was known to the child, took her to school and alerted officials.
The child was not physically injured in the attempted abduction.
The suspect was described as a tall, clean shaven, black man, possibly in his 40's, wearing a black coat, black hoodie and faded blue jeans.
