LAKEWOOD, OH (WOIO) - Some local mayors are breathing a sigh of relief, after getting some much needed salt delivered!
With more than 10 inches of snow predicted by Wednesday evening, road conditions were a big concern.
Lakewood got a shipment late last week and have already placed another order for an additional 890 tons, which should get them through the season.
"I think normally we would be able to have enough interlude between storms that you could refill. That has not been the case this year. They've been coming at us about every other day," said Lakewood Mayor Mike Summers. "The storms the week of the 24th dumped several inches of snow and we did not have the salt to handle that appropriately."
