Eight Cleveland firefighters have been punished for the incident involving the defacing of their former chief's picture.
The firefighters urinated on former Fire Chief Daryl McGinnis' picture at a bar.
Their punishment includes, unpaid suspensions ranging from three-to-30 days.
Among those punished - a captain was demoted to firefighter and a lieutenant received a six month suspension.
Another firefighter who has been out on sick leave has yet to learn his punishment.
His final hearing has not yet been scheduled.
Local 93 of the International Association of Firefighters issued the following statement:
"We believe the punishment was excessive considering former chief McGinnis only received a verbal reprimand for threatening a firefighter."
