Local Craigslist deal turns into hold up

EAST CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - We're tracking new developments in the search for a gunman; a suspect wanted after yet another local meeting through Craigslist turned violent.

This case happened Thursday afternoon in East Cleveland.  A woman, her adult daughter, and the daughter's fiance drove for hours to see a car advertised on Craigslist.

One of the victims told 19 Action News, when they got there, a man showed up at their car with a gun. As they sped off he fired several shots and even hit the younger woman in the leg.

East Cleveland police are investigating and following leads. The victims planned to look at old mug shots of convicted robbers in case they could identify the gunman.

The website in the news time and again.

Last year, a Summit County judge sent Richard Beasley to death row for killing 3 men answering fake online job ads on Craigslist.

A woman in Pennsylvania now claims to be a serial killer.  Claiming she killed people she met on Craigslist.  Weeks ago, we showed you a Cleveland man busted for selling drugs on Craigslist.

And last year, a Cleveland man went to prison for responding to ads on Craigslist for motorcycles and atv's.  He was taking test runs and not coming back.  A 19 Action News story led to a break in that case.

Now the victims in that East Cleveland shooting want justice.  One victim told reporter Ed Gallek,  "I heard a tap on my window and there was a gun in my face."  "He said gimme all your money, and I popped the clutch and took off."
