The Miami Heat announced Friday afternoon that their superstar forward LeBron James suffered a broken nose during Thursday night's game. James caught the backhand of Oklahoma City Thunder forward Serge Ibaka while driving to the basket and immediately went down.
James left the game with over five minutes to play in the fourth quarter and was taken to the locker room. It was later announced that he cleared the concussion test. Miami went on to win the game 103-81. LeBron scored 33 points and shot (15-for-22) from the field before leaving the game.
He is considered a game time decision as the Heat host the Chicago Bulls on Sunday. If LeBron does play, he will likely have to wear a mask to protect the broken nose. James is no stranger to the mask, he wore one in the 2005 season while with the Cleveland Cavaliers. He also broke his nose that year after taking a foul to the face from Dikembe Mutombo.
