Milder temperatures are assisting the beginning of this year's Restaurant Week in Cleveland. With no snow, no rain, and no brutally cold temperatures many people are out enjoying the great deals throughout the city.
Dozens of restaurants are offering special menus throughout the week. Three-course meals are priced at $30 at some of the city's finest restaurants.
Lynn Francis from Alliance didn't know it was restaurant week when she decided to visit the city, but is pleasantly surprised with the specials and the variety.
"It's a great deal," Francis said. "It's exciting. The food is fabulous. It's a lot of fun. We come from a small town, so it's a lot of fun for us to come to the big city."
The excited customers are music to the ears of restaurant owners around town as this year's winter has hurt business at some downtown restaurants.
The restaurant Cowell and Hubbard in Playhouse Square is already seeing success from the promotional week and not just at dinnertime. Sean McNeil, General Manager of Cowell and Hubbard, said they had a remarkable turnout for lunch today.
"It really brings people out, lunch in particular," McNeil said. "We're busy obviously because of our location regardless of restaurant Week and that just helps keep the seats full."
Greg Svitak of Ohio City has a strategy to take advantage of the deals.
"One year I went to five different places in one week," Svitak said. "So it was just awesome, absolutely awesome."
Restaurant week continues until Sunday, March 2.
