VERMILION, OH (WOIO) - Firefighters had to rescue at least six people, including a 93-year-old woman and a grandfather watching his toddler grandson, from their flooded homes Saturday.
The rescues took place on Riverside Drive.
The residents became trapped when the Vermilion River reached flood stage overnight and the roads were overtaken by the rushing water.
Riverside Drive residents called Vermilion Firefighters for help.
The firefighters used rafts to bring the people up a cliff. All were ok.
