BEREA, OH (WOIO) -

Area golfers put on their all-weather gear and teed up for the Strongville Rotary's 23rd Annual B'laster Chili Open golf classic.

The event has gained momentum since it's inception in 1992 and this round drew some 1,000 golfers.

The men and women love the tradition of teeing off on the frozen fairways and taking in the cold blasts of air after being inside for the long winter.

Our Danielle Serino and Harry Boomer were on hand to congratulate golfers as they putt out the 18th hole and to emcee the celebrity auction.

This event has raised more than $2 million dollars for charity in the 23 years.

This year B'laster, a chemical company, held the honor of being the title sponsor.
