Multiple internal investigations on new police commander Internal Investigations By Cleveland 19 Digital Team | February 24, 2014 at 1:02 PM EST - Updated July 2 at 12:55 AM Dennis Hill sworn in as police commander of 5th District on Feb. 10. The new commander of the Cleveland Police 5th District has a past of multiple internal investigations. Earlier this month, Dennis Hill was sworn in by Mayor Frank Jackson. 19 Action News heard of several internal investigations done on Hill over the years. City Hall sent us the following list: In 2012: Hill accused of rape, investigators concluded that was unfounded or false. In 2010: A misconduct complaint. Not clear of the nature of the complaint, but no papers or charges were filed. In 2003: An investigation into an unauthorized second job. Again, no criminal charges. In 1993: An assault complaint. Hill cleared. We'll be asking more questions about some of this. Hill has been on the force in various units since the late 80s. He got his new job because the mayor picked him. We've also requested the commander's personnel file. Copyright 2014 WOIO. All rights reserved.
