Cleveland Police Chief Calvin Williams announced Wednesday that an officer was relieved of duty after failing a random drug test.

Officer Kahlil Caldwell was immediately relieved and awaits a disciplinary hearing before the safety director Michael McGrath. That's set for March 14, 2014.

Officer Caldwell was offered a pre-disciplinary hearing but he declined.

Caldwell has been on the force since 1998.
