Cleveland is a finalist to host 2016 Republican National Convention

The race to host the 2016 Republican National Convention is on.

The RNC announced the bidding cities this morning via twitter.

Cleveland is a finalist.

The other finalists include: Cincinnati, Columbus, Denver, Dallas, Kansas City, Las Vegas and Phoenix.

They all move on to the next phase.

On March 3, bidding cities will travel to Washington, D.C. to present their bids to the full RNC site selection committee.

A selection committee will travel to the cities for site visits and narrow down the list.

Sometime late summer/early fall the full RNC will vote on a convention city.
