There is still a ton of work to be done but if the preview that we got is any indication...The Metropolitan at the Nine will be a new jewel in downtown.
Marriott signed off just yesterday on what will be their latest autograph collection property.
"We are just completely on edge today. It's, the team is excited they're motivated. There's a lot of work ahead of us in a very short amount of time but we can't wait to bring the Metropolitan Hotel at the Nine to Cleveland by September 1," says Keith Halfmann of Geis Construction.
There are subtle features in the rooms that draw on Cleveland history. The headboards are a replica of the entrance into the old Ameritrust building.
The closets share designs from the old vaults in the Cleveland Trust building.
"We've shown you these rooms are extremely chic, there are vintage accents throughout the room but they're all very modern. But this isn't just a modern glass sculpture in the middle of your room, this is actually your walk-in shower and it's probably not for the bashful," says Halfmann.
There will be 156 rooms and 104 luxury apartments.
The reason they call the entire complex an urban resort is truthfully you'll never have to leave the building.
"You'll be able to have 24 hour room service, housekeeping services, you'll be able to walk to Heinen's and get your groceries without ever leaving the building. And an indoor dog park in case you have a dog, you can take care of that in the building as well," says Halfmann.
We're told the Heinen's in the rotunda of the Cleveland Trust will be one of the most gorgeous grocery stores in the country.
