RICHMOND HEIGHTS, OH (WOIO) -

On Friday, February 28, Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Timothy McGinty announced that the Richmond Heights Superintendent of Schools and a second high-ranking district official were arrested on charges of bribery and theft in office.

Superintendent Dr. Robert J. Moore, 52, of Mentor, and Richard R. Muse, 43, of Cleveland Heights, were arrested Friday night by Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Department deputies.

Muse is the Director of Building and Grounds for the Richmond Heights Local School District.

Indictments against Moore and Muse could be returned as early as next week.

The Prosecutor's Office sought the arrest warrants based on taped evidence that both men forced a business that contracted with the school district to hand over $3,700 in cash in the past month.

Search warrants were being executed Friday evening at school board offices in Richmond Heights and at Dr. Moore's home.

The Board of Education has not released a statement regarding the arrest.
