WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Mild and sunny weather made a return to southeast North Carolina on Saturday. The sunshine and mild weather sticks around through Tuesday.
DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME BEGINS: Don't forget to "spring forward" one hour Saturday night. Officially, 2am Sunday will become 3am. The time change will push Sunday's sunrise time to 7:31am and the sunset time all the way back to 7:15pm! Remember to take some time and replace batteries in your smoke detectors and weather radios.
SUNDAY: Another winner! After a cool start look for a mostly sunny and mild afternoon with highs in the upper 60's. Winds will be out of the west at 5-10 mph. Sunday night will be clear and cool with lows in the mid 40's.
A PEEK INTO NEXT WEEK: The weather gets better on Monday and Tuesday! Look for lots of sun both days and even warmer highs in the low to mid 70's. On Wednesday a low pulling out of the Tennessee valley will drag the next cold front through the area. Ahead of this front scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely with highs Wednesday near 70. Thursday will be mostly sunny, cool, and breezy with highs in the mid 50's. Lows returns to the 30's by the end of the week.
