Plow drivers tuckered out from all the snow

LORAIN COUNTY, OH (WOIO) -

There are two kinds of plow drivers, and both are sick and literally tired of the snow. Steve Roman plows for the city of Rocky River. His pay is based on hours and he has had his fill. Roman is tired of the 12 hours on the job, 12 off, over and over.

"Basically I come home, I eat something, I go to bed, I eat something, I go back to work on my five days. Not a lot of time with the family," an exhausted Roman said sitting on his front steps.

Patrick Knoble is the other kind of plow driver. He owns his own business, Bartish Farms Landscapes and Lawn Care, where he signs contracts to remove snow. A flat rate no matter how many times he comes out.

"Are you losing money at this point?" 19 Action News Reporter Dan DeRoos asked. "No, we're doing quite well at this point. But fuel is starting to hit us," said Knoble.

Something else both drivers have in common, this has been one of worst seasons they've seen and if the forecast is right, it's not over yet.

"I'll be very glad to see many full days of sunshine without any snow, any rain, anything. Any ice," said Roman.

"Most of the landscapers I talk to that do this for a living too, we're all tired. We're ready to move on," said Knoble.
