BATH, OH (WOIO) -

Bath Police are looking for witnesses in the shooting of a former U.S. Navy SEAL.

The shooting happened on March 28 around 5:30 p.m. at the West Market Plaza on Medina Road.

Christopher Heben, 44, was shot in the stomach. Heben attempted to follow the suspects, but when he noticed he was bleeding, he drove himself to the police department.

Firefighters administered first aid and rushed him to the hospital.

19 Action News has learned that three men were in the suspect car at the time of the shooting. They fled in a vehicle described as a gray, low-profile sports car. It had a raised spoiler on the trunk and black rims. There was a dark black tint to the side rear windows and back window. The muffler was a loud, performance style muffler.

Heben remains hospitalized in stable condition.
