WESTLAKE, OH (WOIO) -
Bye-bye snow blowers and hello lawn mowers!

At Cricket Yard Equipment in Westlake customers like Tony Ceja are making sure their mowers are ready to start cutting.

"It's getting to be time to mow the lawns ," said Ceja.

But Ceja will have to get in line, because Cricket has a lot of work to do.
This is the busiest time of year for lawn mower shops and Cricket has about 300 lawnmowers to fix.

"Blade sharpening, oil changes, new filters," said Craig Baker, Cricket's General Manager.

Baker says there are two things to remember when it comes to taking care of your lawn mower.

"Last mowing season these engines could be low on oil, so number one, check your oil," Baker said.

Secondly, drain the fuel.

"Those people who prepared for winter storage drained their fuel, and if they didn't, well it might be hard to start the lawn mower this spring," Baker added.

Baker stresses now is the time to take you lawn mower to be serviced because most shops are backlogged for the next six weeks.
