PARMA, OH (WOIO) -

Parma Police have arrested the suspect believed to be responsible for the armed robbery of the Fifth Third Bank.

Donnivan T. Vanover, 22, is charged with aggravated robbery.

According to police, Vanover entered the Fifth Third Bank branch on Ridge Road in Parma on April 2. He approached a teller where he handed a note, demanding money and threatening to shoot her. Vanover also brandished what appeared to be a handgun and pointed it at the teller. Vanover received money from the teller and fled the bank in an unknown direction.

During the investigation, detectives were able to obtain surveillance footage from the bank which showed the suspect during the bank robbery.

After reaching out to the media and based on tips from the public, cops were able to identify Vanover as the person responsible for the bank robbery.

On April 7, officers tracked Vanover to a relative's house in Cleveland where he was taken into custody without incident.

Officers and special agents searched Vanover's residence in Parma where they recovered evidence from the bank robbery.
