WATERVILLE, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Two adults and two children were rescued from a boat on the Maumee River Friday afternoon.

Four people were trapped in the boat in a very shallow part of the river with rocks just across from Farnsworth Metropark.

The Waterville Fire Department and Monclova Township Water Rescue Unit both initially launched boats into the water to rescue the stranded boaters. Those boats were unsuccessful because the water was so shallow in the area the boat was stuck. Eventually the Napoleon Fire Department brought in a hover craft, which rescued all four boaters.

"It's a fast moving river, and if your motor dies or something you could get into trouble real quick," said Max, the man whose boat was stuck.
