Woman is killed in fatal accident on Broadway, driver faces charges

Cleveland Police Investigators are looking into a fatal car accident which happened at 8003 Broadway on April 26 at 11 p.m.

According to police, the vehicle was speeding southeast on Broadway when the driver lost control of the car and struck the Family Dollar Store at 8003 Broadway.

Five people were inside the vehicle at the time of the accident.

One of the passengers, a 27-year-old female, was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center where she later died.

Three of the other passengers were also taken to MetroHealth Medical Center where they were confined in connection with injuries from the accident.

The driver, 34-year-old James A. Cook of Warrensville Heights, was conveyed to MetroHealth Medical Center where he was treated and expected to be released.

Investigators reveal that alcohol suspected to have played a role in the deadly accident.

Officers say Mr. Cook will be arrested for aggravated vehicular assault after being medically cleared and released from hospital.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner will the victim when her family has been properly notified
