Alamo Sunrise, a 4-year-old purchased by a local family, ran at Belterra Park Gaming & Entertainment Center on Sunday.
Trained by Claude Brownfield, the thoroughbred lost by just a length and a half.
Belterra kicked off its live thoroughbred horse racing season last week.
Live racing will be held every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the park through October 19, 2014, with various special racing dates also available.
