In the 28th round of the Major League Baseball draft the San Diego Padres selected Johnny Manziel, they listed him as a shortstop. They even referred to him as "Johnny Baseball" in a tweet.
There is no reason to believe Manziel will ever play pro baseball, but he was grateful of the act tweeting "Big thank you to the @Padres and @padresmikedee for selecting me in the MLB draft. What a great day!"
Manziel has played baseball in the past and in an interview with the Associated Press said, "I do miss (baseball). I would love to play. But I chose a different path. Football became center stage in my life when I always thought I would play baseball."
Manziel is spending the weekend in Austin, Texas where the X-Games are being played. He will be back in Cleveland next week for Browns mini-camp.
