Ashley Summer's family takes to the streets with missing person flyers

Friends and family of Ashley Summers gathered in a parking lot on Cleveland's west side on Saturday, June 15, to hand out flyers with her picture on them to remind people that she is still missing seven years after the fact. The pain of her disappearance has been hard on Cathy Donathan and other family members.

''Unless you are going through what we are going through you don't know what it's like to have somebody you love that much not apart of your life,'' says Donathan.

Ashley ran away from home. She was last seen July 6, 2007 on Holmden Avenue, less than a mile from where Ariel Castro held three women captive for a decade.

When the kidnapped women were found alive that story gave hope to the Summers that their prayers had finally been answered.

''When Amanda and Gina were found our hopes were sky high.''

But Ashley would remain missing and was not among the trio found. Still family members keep their faith that at some point they will be reunited with her, Ashley Summers' 21st birthday is Monday, June 16.
