Spurs slam Heat to claim 5th NBA title

San Antonio got out to a slow start, they trailed Miami 22-6 in the opening moments in the first quarter. They seemed to have the Heat right where they wanted them.

The Spurs closed the gap to eight to tend the first quarter, then outscored the Heat 37-13 from the start of the second quarter to midway in the third. They never let up, blowing out Miami 104-87.  "We remember what happened last year and how it felt in that locker room and we used it and built on it and got back here and it's amazing," Tim Duncan said. "It makes last year OK." The Heat won Game 6 and 7 last year to steal the title away from San Antonio.

"They played exquisite basketball this series and in particular these last three games and they are the better team. There's no other way to say it," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said.

Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Spurs, who added this title to the ones they won in 1999, 2003, '05 and '07.
