Felix Hernandez was almost unhittable on Sunday afternoon as he pitched Seattle to a 3-0 win over the Indians. The Tribe mustered one hit on the day, a Lonnie Chisenhall single. Hernandez dominated them for eight innings, striking out nine batters and walking only three. He ran his record to 10-2 on the year with the win.
TJ House pitched well in a losing effort going six innings allowing two runs.
The game was scoreless until the sixth inning when the Mariners finally broke though. It started with an error, House fielded a weakly hit ball off the bat of Michael Saunders but made a bad throw to first baseman Nick Swisher. Saunders advanced all the way to third base on the miscue. Robinson Cano was the next batter and drove a pitch over the right field wall for a two-run homer. They added one more in the eighth.
The loss dropped the Indians to 39-42 on the year.
