More closures began downtown Monday morning for construction of Cincinnati's Streetcar.
The intersection of 12th and Race streets will be closed for six weeks as crews install a special track for the project.
The closure allows crews to place a section of criss-cross track and associated track switches in the intersection.
Southbound traffic on Race will be detoured to Vine Street due to the construction. Traffic on 12th Street can use Central Parkway as an alternate route.
Access to local businesses and residences will be maintained.
Clay Street will also be closed from Monday at 7 a.m. until Wednesday at 4 p.m. this week for track work.
In the central business district, utility work continues on Main Street and Walnut Street.
