9 people connected to July 1 murder in Elyria arrested

ELYRIA, OH (WOIO) -

Elyria Police served arrest warrants for nine people involved in the murder of Davion Strupe.

Warrants for Todd Wells, 21, Tyler Wells, 23, Anthony McShepard, 21, Dean Martin, 27, Iesha Newson, 23, Megan White, 25, Devonte Gray, 21 Richard Webber, 26, and Andrian Smith, 24, were issued last week and since then, all have been arrested. 

Todd Wells is facing the most serious charges. He's been charged with murder, kidnapping, aggravated burglary and aggravated rioting. His bond will not be set until he's in court.

Tyler Wells has been charged with aggravated rioting. He also had bench warrant out of Elyria for domestic violence. His bond was set at $102,000.

The rest of the suspects are charged with aggravated rioting and are being held on $100,000 bond.

Davion Strupe was killed on July 1, 2014 during a large fight involving about 30 people on Garden street. When police arrived they found Strupe bleeding on the street. He was rushed to the hospital where he died.

According to police several of the suspects made statements to detectives implicating themselves.
