Akron Police: Court computer stolen, crime caught on tape

AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

A laptop computer and jump drive were stolen from the court reporter's office at the Summit County Courthouse located at 219 South High Street in the city of Akron last week.

Police say the laptop and jump drive contained sensitive case information, including information pertaining to ongoing cases.

It happened on July 10, 2014, around 4:00 p.m. and the theft was caught on tape.

Anyone with information regarding the theft or the identity of the subject, should call the Summit County Sheriff's Office at 330-643-8634.

Information leading to the arrest and indictment of the subject may be eligible for a reward from Summit County Crimestoppers.
