AVON LAKE, OH (WOIO) - The Avon Lake woman accused of killing her husband three years ago remains in jail on a cash bond.
According to Avon Lake Police, Michael Gabel died on Aug. 16, 2011 inside a home located at 33400 Karen Drive.
Now, wife Jeane Harrington has been charged with murder in the case.
Harrington became a murder suspect after the department conducted a full scale investigation.
Police say Harrington used a stun gun to incapacitate Gabel by zapping him more than 20 times before wrapping his head with plastic wrap, eventually suffocating him. Authorities say the attack came after a fight.
The Lorain County Coroner's Office reported that Gabel died of asphyxiation.
According to Avon Lake Municipal Court, Harrington's next courtroom appearance is July 21. Until then, she remains in jail with bond set at $500,000 cash/surety.
