The 2014 Gay Games are coming to Cleveland early next month.

So far this year, 75 Cleveland Police officers have attended training put on by the Anti-Defamation League going over hate crimes.

Last fall a man was attacked outside a gay bar and we found Ohio does not have a state law making an attack on gays a hate crime.

Last year, all Cleveland officers had some hate crime training as part of their yearly training.

Police said the training is in place so officers can better understand what hate crimes are. They added it was to assist them with any issues they may have with the Gay Games.
