Lebron James has been voted the most popular male athlete in America for the very first time in his entire career stated by Harris poll, who surveyed a representative sample of 2,241 people in the U.S. just last month.
Lebron soured ahead both retired Chicago Bulls star and Charlotte Hornets owner Michael Jordon, who was honored No. 1 from 1993 through 2005.
After James made the first "Decision" he fell substantially, dropping below the top 10. Out of those surveyed, he was most popular among 18-36 and 49-67 year olds.
Some of the top 5 consist of retiring shortstop of the New York Yankees Derek Jeter, Peyton Manning quarterback for the Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant and NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. tied for 5th.
Football was hands down the most popular amongst the male athletes on the top 10 which include Manning at 4, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady at No. 7, New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees at No. 9 and the No.10 spot goes to Aaron Rodgers quarterback of the Green Bay Packers.
Out of all the male athletes only one is retired which is Jordon.
Two athletes who fell off of the list from this previous year were Tim Tebow and Phil Mickelson.
