Young woman killed in Medina crash, cops say she may have been drinking

GRAFTON TOWNSHIP, OH (WOIO) -

The Elyria Post of the Ohio State Patrol is currently investigating a one vehicle fatal crash in Grafton Township on Cowley Road south of Crocker Road.  

The crash occurred at 2:00 a.m. this morning.

Police say there was one person in the black 2002 Jeep Liberty at the time of the crash and no other vehicles were involved. 

According to investigators Corrine L. Reid, 25, of 126 N. East Street in Medina was traveling southbound on Cowley Road, drove off the right side, and reentered the roadway. Ms. Reid lost control and slid off the right side striking a ditch and overturning. As the vehicle overturned, Ms. Reid was ejected from the vehicle. The vehicle struck a utility pole and several trees before coming to final rest on it's top. 

Ms. Reid was transported from the scene by Grafton Township Fire Department to University Hospital Elyria where she died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.

Speed and alcohol are considered factors in the crash. 

Ms. Reid was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
