AKRON, OH (WOIO) - Through the use of extensive surveillance, police track down a fugitive wanted for aggravated murder.
At 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 24, Michael J. Herring, 31, of Akron, was taken into custody for the July 14,2014, shooting death of 28-year-old Ronnie L. Travis. The Columbus Fugitive Task Force apprehended Herring in Columbus, OH.
Herring is being held in the Franklin County Jail pending an extradition hearing.
Travis was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the 1200 block of Packard Drive. He was transported to Akron General Medical center where he later died.
