WOOSTER, OH (WOIO) - Police have arrested the man they say murdered his wife and daughter in 1995.
For years law enforcement was missing vital information that would help them solve two murder cases in two states.
Robert Honsch, also known as Robert Tyree, appeared for an extradition hearing in a Wayne County Municipal Court on Thursday, July 24.
Honsch was arrested after family members filed a missing persons report with the New York Police Department almost two decades later, identifying the victims.
Honsch's daughter's body was found in Connecticut and a week later his wife's body was found in Massachusetts. Both were unidentified until the family went to authorities.
Officers said they can not comment on why it took the family so long to file the missing persons reports.
In the time that has passed Honsch was remarried in Ohio and took on his wife's last name.
Honsch is being held without bond until an extradition hearing within the next 30 days sends him to Massachusetts and then to Connecticut to face murder charges.
