NORTHEAST OHIO (WOIO) - Severe storms passed through Northeast Ohio Sunday afternoon. The downpour created flooding issues for many across the northeast portion of the state.
It was a slow moving storm that made driving a headache for drivers. The hard driving rain was too much for a bridge under construction at Woodhill and Buckeye in Cleveland.
As of Monday evening just under 1,000 Illuminating Company customers are without power. The majority of those affected are in Cuyahoga County, more specifically in Lakewood.
On Sunday night in Bedford Heights, a motorist ignored the warning and tried to pass the high water, leaving the car submerged nearly to its roof. Almost as quickly as the high waters came up, they receded.
