A Cleveland man convicted of causing a deadly accident while driving drunk was sentenced to 15 years in prison; however, this is not the maximum sentence and the victim's family is outraged.

Julio Vargas, 41, was driving the wrong way on I-480 westbound when he slammed head-on into another car on April 5. Vargas entered the exit ramp at W. 130th Street and began traveling eastbound.

The driver of the car Vargas crashed into was seriously injured and taken to MetroHealth Medical Center. The passenger, Desiree Snyder, 22, of Cleveland, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Vargas was driving drunk at more than twice the legal limit at the time of the crash.

In June, Vargas entered a no contest plea to two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide, four counts of aggravated vehicular assault and three counts of driving under the influence. He was found guilty by the judge.
