SHEFFIELD VILLAGE, OH (WOIO) -

Two men are in critical condition after a head-on crash on I-90 Tuesday morning.

The accident happened on I-90 eastbound, near State Route 611, just before 11:00 a.m.

Sheffield Village Police Officers say Kevin McHue, 25, was traveling west on I-90 when he went out of his lane and bumped a car driven by Nikki Krisher of Avon.

Krisher was not injured.

The impact caused McHue to lose control, cross the median and enter I-90 eastbound.

McHue then slammed head-on into a car driven by a 21-year-old man from Gardner, Massachusetts.

That driver, Adam Coutre, was on his way home after visiting his grandparents in Michigan.

McHue, who has addresses in Cleveland and Elyria, and Coutre were both trapped in their vehicles for about on hour and had to be cut out by rescue workers.

Both men were then taken by medical helicopter to MetroHealth Hospital.

All lanes on I-90 eastbound were closed for about two hours.

No charges have been filed.
