PARMA, OH (WOIO) - A federal lawsuit has been filed accusing Parma first responders of brutality against a man having seizures.
The suit claims that on August 1, 2013, paramedics rushed to Richard Pettry's home for a man having a seizure. Pettry's niece called 911, and Parma EMS, Fire and Police responded.
However, the suit claims they ended up tackling Pettry off the bed, and a police officer tasered him repeatedly, thinking the man was high on drugs.
The lawsuit also claims Pettry spent time in a hospital handcuffed to a bed. He was then released with no charges.
