NORTHFIELD, OH (WOIO) -

Fan Mosaics is giving northeast Ohio the most creative way yet to welcome home LeBron James.

"Everybody's talking about how excited they are to have LeBron come back," said Rob Hixenbaugh, Fan Mosaics' director of fan and brand development. "But we're giving people a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to show it."

The company has created photo mosaics for the Twilight Saga film series, a Marilyn Monroe 50th anniversary, WWE Wrestlemania and the cover for a recent Elvis CD released -- just to name a few. Now they want to do something big for King James' much anticipated return.

The "Welcome Home, LeBron" mosaic will be composed entirely of photos submitted by fans. The photos will be the building blocks used to recreate a LeBron image designed for this special project. The larger-than-life mosaic will be unveiled at a date and place announced soon. It takes the company about a week to design the mosaic and a couple of weeks to print.

"We put all of those fans into that software program and based on what colors, what they're wearing, compared to the mosaic we design. The software places all those pictures somewhere in the mosaic randomly," explained Brian Doskocil.

Fans can upload their photos for free through August 30 online. A search tool will help fans find their photo in the picture.

"Because we're a Cleveland-based company, we're as thrilled as everyone else to have LeBron back on the Cavaliers team again," Hixenbaugh said. "The idea for this project came from that excitement. We truly want to show him and the whole Cavaliers organization what this means to the team's fans."

"Our end result is a great mural of LeBron James being back home, that he himself can see and see all the fans' support and excitement," said Doskocil.
